Welcome to Dunowen House, an exclusive coastal estate located on the Wild Atlantic Way near Clonakilty in West Cork.
At Dunowen House, the entire property is yours to enjoy in complete privacy. This exclusive use ensures that every moment of your wedding is intimately yours, free from outside interruptions. Hosts Kela and Stephen Hodgins are committed to providing personalised service, ensuring that every detail of your special day is perfect.
Our historic property is set in four acres of private grounds and includes a large main house, a cosy cottage and a walled garden all surrounded by dramatic coastline. With a total of nine bedrooms, we can accommodate up to 20 guests overnight and host events for up to 30.
We specialise in intimate weddings and elopements, with a vibe of laid-back luxury, comfort and the warmest of Irish welcomes.
Our goal is to create a celebration that is private, beautiful and personal.

Imagine exchanging vows under our 200 year old sycamore tree, with the lush garden and sound of the Atlantic ocean as your backdrop? Then moving to the landscaped terrace or drawing room for your joyful drinks reception. Take photos in the quiet cove at the bottom of the laneway before joining your guests for a delicious meal featuring homegrown and local West Cork ingredients.
All catering is provided on-site with the flexibility to work with us to create your own unique menu, including extensive vegetarian and vegan options.

"A Magical West Cork Escape"
We stayed at Dunowen House for a long weekend and genuinely didn’t want to leave. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beauty of the house and its surroundings – the views, the gardens, the quiet… it’s pure magic. The house itself is full of character and history but still feels incredibly cosy and luxurious.
We loved having our morning coffee overlooking the sea and strolling down to the nearby coves. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. Clonakilty is only a few minutes away too, so we had some lovely meals out and picked up bits from the local markets.
